Clarifications for Snowball 300 this Saturday: |
Dec 31, 2008, 10:49
There has been a few phone calls asking for clarification of a few things. Here are those answers for those of you that may have the same question! This class and event is intended for fun. For the beginning and experienced racer. Keeping this in mind may help to clarify some questions! Purse stated says it is for minimum of 40 cars. This has never been an issue in the past, and we expect over 50 cars again this year! This clause is there simply in case too few cars show up such as in a severe weather situation. When I say few, I mean a few! Not much chance in that! Rather than cancel the event for this or any reason (therefore penalizing the drivers that do show up!), we will run the race regardless of the weather or car count! The purse may need to be adjusted to make this a reality is all. Therefore it is simply a "what-if" statement. I say if there is 3" of snow on the track, let's go racing! Another way to put it is this. Rather than detail out a purse for 39 cars or less that would be dramatically lower than that for 40 cars, I would rather adjust it as needed based on car count. This assures the highest possible payouts in the very odd case we have 39 cars or less! Another clarification is this. We reserve the right to purchase any car for $250.00 this includes the winner! This year, we may or may not claim the winners car for any event. In the past you received $500.00 and you lost your car for winning. This year, you will always recieve $500.00 for winning but you may be able to keep your car. This hopefully slows the practice of "slamming on the brakes" at the end of the event, and also the faster, more expensive type cars from showing up. If you bring a "race car" that is beyond the intent of these rules, it may be claimed. If you legitimately win with a car that follows the intent of these rules, you win without the worry of us taking your car! You should not be penalized for having the ability to win! If you fight tooth and nail for 300 laps to win, you should get to keep the victory, and the car! Simply stated, it is our goal for the best driver to win the race, not the best car!!! The claim rule is intended to "buy" these faster cars that do not belong in this class. Lastly, yes, you can remove any and all safety gear before we take your car if claimed! Including fuel cell, window nets, seat, aftermarket battery boxes, belts, ???. Please contact us with question you may have regarding this event, or any subject matter. Thank you. Lex
