Snohomish County Burn Ban Cancels Firework Show at 9/3 Demo Derby

Monroe, Wash., Aug. 31, 2017 – Due to high fire danger and sustained hot and dry weather conditions, the Snohomish County Fire Marshall’s Office has upgraded the previously issued burn ban to a complete burn ban which prohibits all recreational fires and fireworks. The upgraded burn ban will take effect September 1, 2017 at 12:01 a.m. and be effective until further notice.

Due to the total burn ban, the Sunday, September 3 Fireworks Show, following the annual Demo Derby, will be suspended. The popular Demo Derby and Thrill Show will continue its scheduled events including Mini Stocks, Super Stock Figure 8, Stinger 8, V8s, Boat Races, Bus Races and special events by Mr. Dizzy, until further notice.

Gates open for festival seating at 2:00 p.m. and practice and Heat Races will run throughout the afternoon until Opening Ceremonies at 6:00 p.m. followed by the main events.

Tickets can be purchased online at Etix.com or at the Fair Ticket Booths at the entrances. Cost is $29 for adults (16-61), $19 for seniors and youth (6-15 and 62+), $5 for kids (2-5) and free for kids under 2 sitting in their parent’s laps. All Demo Derby tickets include Fair Gate Admission a $12 value.

The next fireworks show at the Evergreen Speedway is scheduled for September 23 after the Figure 8/Carnage Championship Night, if the burn ban is lifted. The Evergreen Speedway is offering discounted Adult tickets to the September 23 event for only $15 to those who purchase tickets for the September 3 Demolition Derby. You must present your ticket to the Speedway Box Office for special pricing. Plus kids 10 and under are free at the September 23 event.
